James Edward Helton Killed in Hit and Run Accident

Pedestrian hit and run accidents are amongst the worst felonies because when you hit a pedestrian and fail to stop you are denying the victim the necessary aid that could save that person’s life. How could someone be so thoughtless and cold-hearted as to leave an innocent victim bleeding and dying, when the means to saving a life are as simple as applying first aid and calling 911? Hit and run accidents are the most self-incriminating of all felonies as it practically requires one to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol to decide that it’s better to ignore a person in dire need than it is to stop and save someone’s life. 63-year old James Edward Helton of Meridianville was struck by a vehicle on US. 231 north of Huntsville Wednesday morning February 2nd. in just such a hit and run accident.
